This is a sorter for the gacha-focused RPG 'Tokyo Afterschool Summoners'. If you don't know what that is, you have been swindled and need to run as far as you can.
I'm surprised that there's been little to no discussion of Tokyo Afterschool Summoners on Reddit, so I thought I'd write up a little text post about why you should give it a try. The game is now available in English for both iOS and Android.
It's a card strategy game in the vein of Fire Emblem: Heroes, in which you use 'orbs' to summon interdimensional heroes using a gacha system (where stronger units are rarer, there are duplicates, and you power up each unit individually). Gacha games often use psychological tricks to get players to drop a lot of dough trying to roll for a hero that may have a <1% chance of appearing. There's a lot to criticise when it comes to mobile gachas. So why would I recommend this one?
Lots and lots of bara.Seriously, look at these units. The game squarely focuses on a gay audience, and the characters are either 1) furry, 2) muscle/bara, or 3) chub (sometimes a combination of 2 of these). The art and voice acting are really fantastic, and the characters' writing is surprisingly good. As far as I can tell, all male characters in the game are gay, and the player character can flirt with anyone in any conversation. The first 6 chapters of the game have been translated, and there's still a lot of text that hasn't. But the english portion combined with the characters and satisfying character leveling have me hooked.
If you decide to play, you first create a player character. You choose from 5 models (4 male body types and 1 woman option), a gender identity, and a name. Then, your character is mysteriously summoned to an alternate dimension (as they typically are in these types of games). There is a guided story and I suggest you don't skip it. There's lots of writing, but the character development is really fun and the characters are likeable.
The real meat of the gameplay is in the battle system. Cards of your characters are placed on a grid, as are a set of enemies. On your turn, you can drag and slide around one ally, and when you drop them, everyone on your team attacks at once. Sliding an ally onto another ally switches their spots. You can continue dragging your ally and repositioning your team until the timer at the top runs out, then the attack initiates. All enemies in targeted squares will take damage. There are different attack types and they attack in the following patterns (from strongest to weakest).

There is an elemental attribute triangle with the following elements: Allround (elementless), Fire, Water, Wood, Aether, Nether, Valiant, Infernal. The relationships can be found here. All characters have a single element, and all of their attacks are of that element.
Before the battle starts, you can select from a list of other players' 'Support' familiars. Pick a strong one that has an element that you think will benefit you in the fight ahead. If the unit is great, send the person an Ally request and you'll be able to easily call it in the future.
When a unit attacks and takes damage, they build up CP. When that reaches 100%, their next attack will be a super attack (that may have a different attack pattern and additional effects). If there is no enemy within range, they will hold onto the attack until a future turn. It's smart to move full CP targets out of range and save the attack for later.

In order to get more husbandos, you need to summon them! But to do that, you need this game's most precious currency: transient crystals. The daily login bonus is a good source of transient crystals, but there are other sources. Clearing any quest for the first time (story quest or otherwise) grants you 1 crystal. In addition, beating each Daily Quest/Event quest gives a crystal the first time you clear it (so try to clear as many Daily Quests as you can each day). Finally, the Clipboard button in the top right gives a list of 'quests' (things like defeat 5 enemies)-- completing them grants you rewards. Make sure to pick up rewards from your mailbox.
Excel date serial number calculator. It's tempting to immediately summon a new familiar when you reach 5 Transient Crystals, but I recommend you avoid it. Collect 50 crystals first, then summon 10 times at once. This guarantees a 4* or 5* drop, then the other 9 drops follow the normal drop rate (Typically 80% are 3*, 18% are 4*, and 2% are 5*. This may be altered during events and you can check the odds from the Summon menu). Events have different drop rates and often don't have the 10-summon bonus drop. The wiki has gacha information for each event, but it's not always up to date. You can buy crystals, but it's not necessary. I threw the developers about 10 bucks to thank them for translating the game, and to encourage future development.
You also collect Ally Points, and you can spend these on the Ally Summon. I recommend doing the non-premium ally summon (costs 200 a pull). You can do 10 of these for 2000 ally points and you get low level mobs as well as items to power up your team. The Premium Ally Summon gives marginally better rewards, but I've honestly never gotten anything great from it.

Once you have summoned some husbandos, you can power them up in different ways from the Team menu.
Level up increases HP and attack power. The unit has a level cap determined by its rarity and if it's had a Limit Break (discussed below). You increase the level by using Power Ups (stars that grant a fixed amount of experience). Stars of the unit's element type give a bonus 50% xp so try to always match them up. You can get more powerups from Daily Quests (there's a different element type available each day).
Limit Break raises the unit's level cap and gives them an additional skill. Skills can be viewed from the Familiar menu and have different effects. You can only Limit Break using rare materials and only if the unit it as its maximum possible level.
Skill Up increases the activation rate and power of a character's skills. Each level gives a 1% increase in both the chance of the skill triggering and the magnitude of the skill effect. For instance, if a skill gives a character a 50% chance to gain 20 CP when moving, and you level it up to Skill Level 50, then it will change so it triggers 75% of the time and gives 30 CP instead. You level the skill using gems that drop from daily quests. You can read more about skills and triggers on the wiki.
Sacred Artifact Level. This is the hardest to increase, and it goes up by 1 every time you summon a duplicate familiar. This level increases the power of a unit's Full CP attack. Don't try to build this up consciously, consider it a consolation prize for drawing a duplicate.
Hotness. Tap the magnifying glass in the Familiar menu to see the full portrait of a unit. Most have multiple skins/outfits, and almost every unit has beachwear as well as a hot spring outfit. Pick the one you like most, and the game will use that art whenever the character appears.

Okay, so now for my favorite units I've summoned so far. Make sure to click the change skin button to see all the art! Gunzo is a shy rugby player who is deeply attractive to ghosts, who swarm around him and protect him from harm. Taurus Mask is a fierce masked wrestler who can't turn down a challenge. Gyobu is a giant tanuki that can summon his brethren to aid him in battle. And finally, Jinn is a genie who teaches at your school and will do anything to help his students succeed.
